Living creatively and finding balance when limited by everyday foods.

The Allergy Aspect welcomes you. We get it - we understand the nuances of living with or caring for someone with food limitations due to food allergies and eosinophilic esophagitis (EOE). Managing these chronic illnesses for my son for more than a decade I’m passionate about connecting with others living with similar challenges and sharing how we live our life fully.

Hi there. I’m Janine — the founder and creator behind The Allergy Aspect.

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. Our family has been living with the demands of our oldest son’s anaphylactic food allergies since 2007 — and the additional limitations of an eosinophilic esophagitis (EOE) diagnosis in 2018 and the ongoing management of orthostatic intolerance.  It has been a journey of ups and downs, wins and losses, and lots of knowledge and experiences from our perspective living this life. At the heart of this journey is food.

Whether you are living with the demands of food avoidance or not, we all have our own perspectives on food.  For those living with strict food avoidance, there are so many small nuances and subtleties required when food is present, and even when it’s not. Our minds are disproportionately focused on safely navigating life. I’ll be sharing my perspective on food in our daily life and how we look for the silver linings in the everyday.

My hope is you’ll find value in our sensible outlook with managing these demands, and comfort and connection – a place where you belong.
